Tungjoy: DCs to talk border row

The border dispute between Tungjoy village of Manipur and Khenjakheno village of Nagaland would be negotiated at a meeting between the Deputy Commissioners concerned of the two States.
Meanwhile, Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in Tungjoy area.
A reliable source informed that the border dispute which dates back to more than 100 years cannot be resolved till date resulting in intermittent confrontation between the two villagers.
A fresh conflict erupted between the villages on July 21 .
Taking serious note of the tension prevailing between the two border villages, the DCs of Senapati and Phek district have agreed to hold a meeting in order to ease the situation and find a solution if possible.

Meanwhile, the Paomata SDC has imposed prohibitionary orders under CrPC Section 144 in Tungjoy area.
Moreover, a team of 4th IRB personnel have been stationed at Paomata, informed the source.
The July 21 outrage erupted when some armed villagers of Khenjakheno crossed into the territory of Manipur together with some personnel of Nagaland Armed Police.
The intruders abducted and abducted three villagers of Tungjoy before setting them free besides burning down a vehicle.
