Imphal, November 04 2009:
All Manipur Tribal Union (AMTU) in a memorandum submitted to Union Home minister P.Chidambaram has demanded to bring 'an ideal justice' by awarding befitting punishment to Pushpum Kumar Sinha, a research scholar of IIT Delhi who allegedly murdered Ramchanpy Hongray, a Naga girl from Manipur in New Delhi recently.
The memorandum signed by AMTU general secretary Romeo Bungdon stated that the claim made by HGS Dhaliwal, deputy commissioner of Delhi police (South), of the accused being a pervert and maniac and also suffering from 'obsessive compulsive disorder' is too premature a statement from the police officer as it is dubious and there is sufficient discrepancy to malice the sanctity of justice and jactitation before a trial proceeds.
The Manipur tribal body also mentioned in the memorandum that such statement is an attempt to defend the accused so that he may escape the befitting punishment by just ignoring him as insane.
It seemed that Delhi has become a giant crucible tub for harnessing such fabricated law proceedings, said the memorandum.
AMTU then cautions that such act would plague the Indian society as land of no justice, no liberty and no chastity that will engrave malicious junk of people in future in the country.
The memorandum also stated the accused was trying to win the victim's courtesy beginning from the Diwali lighting day then further attempting to rape her taking wise advantage of her sibling's absence and then strangulated her on being protested by the victim and later on burnt her upper torso.
"Such acts are crystal clear that the accused was mentally sound enough to mislead the police and was also fully aware of that his indulgence was a crime against the law of land.
It is crystal clear that the accused had preplanned every act of his heinous with his full knowledge and his full sanity", said the memorandum.
All Manipur Tribal Union challenged the concerned authorities if justice is not delivered then the tribal body would assume that the former is intentionally discriminating the people of North-East and harbouring such crimes against the North East people to exist scot-freely as though viruses are harboured in sewerages and filths.
It also stated that the mainland people living in the state of Manipur shall be treated as rebuttal committed by the responsible government if justice is denied and thereafter referendum shall be convened to all the North East people of whether to be allegiance or alienate.
The memorandum further stated that it is the constitutional demand that CBI be probed into the matter to avoid jeopardy and malpractice to enable proper court proceedings without any hamper and pampering of the evidences wherein prejudices be prevented on this matter of the committed crime so that, we the North East people may "regain back resilient confidence on the Indian Union therein our emotional alienation persisted long time due to many injustice attitudes bored in by our tribal different culture and physical feature" .
