Imphal, December 14:
Reacting to the statement of the Kuki National Front (KNF) that the four individuals shot dead by KNF on December 3 at Changoubung near Kangpokpi were working for Kuki National Army (KNA), the outfit has rejected the statement as baseless.
A statement issued by the secretary Information and Publicity Wing no VII of KNA Khang Khang Kuki clarified that the deceased persons were not related to the outfit in any manner at any point of time.
Concerning the accusation that the four were informers of KNA and found carrying receipt book of KNA wing no VII under account officer Thangjang, KNA rubbished the statement saying that it was aimed at tarnishing the image of the outfit by floating false propaganda.
It clarified that KNA neither has any account officer with the name Thangjang under wing no VII nor were the four persons sent to eliminate KNF cadres.
The outfit also conveyed deep shock and sorrow over the incident besides sharing the pain and grief of the bereaved families.
