Imphal, December 04: Contending that some external forces have been playing spoil sport in the upcoming elections, the Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) has cautioned students to remain alert to protect themselves.

In a statement issued by MSF, it expressed apprehension and doubt of college election committees going under the dictates of external forces.

The unwanted incidents on scrutiny yesterday at some colleges stand a testimony to attempts by some external forces to manipulate election code of conduct, observed MSF.

It further informed that consequent upon complains by many students, MSF would stand up firmly against all biasness and injustice in the upcoming student elections to ensure that it is conducted in a free and fair manner.

It would no longer remain a silent spectator to the various diabolic strategies devised by vested interests.

Despite all attempts to reduce election expenses and extreme methods of electioneering, MSF expressed doubt over complete success of the campaign now being undertaken by many organisations to this effect even if the scale of extravagance may come down a bit.

It further questioned effectiveness of policing such elections in a foolproof manner by any organisation.
