Imphal, December 04:
Hardening its stand, the 1999 Hindi Graduate Teachers DPC Successful Candidates Co-ordinating Committee has today stated that if the Government tries to adjust the 146 teachers post from the 9th Plan to the 10th Plan and appoint 100 teachers on contract basis, then it should bear all the unwanted consequences that may follow their high handed attitude.
There is a clear instruction from the Centre that such adjustment cannot be executed, said the Committee in a statement.
On the other hand if the Government does not give the appointment order of the 146 Hindi teachers then it would bar the proposed recruitment process of 11 Hindi Graduate Teachers and 5 matriculate teachers.
Though the Centre has not issued any instruction to appoint the 200 teachers on contract basis, the State Government is trying to hoodwink the people by going in on a contract appointment, said the Committee.
Since the State Government does not want to bear the liabilities of the 200 teachers it is resorting to the contract basis, it charged.
The statement also questioned why the present Education Director has digressed from the stand of the earlier Director Th Shamungou who clearly wrote to the Education Commissioner that the liabilities of the Hindi teachers should rest with the State Government.
The statement of the Director during a meeting held with the Chief Minister, Education Minister, Commissioner, Director, MSF and candidates that the 146 posts had lapsed was bereft of any basis, it charged.
Such a statement has sowed the seeds of suspicion that the Director is not willing to bear the liabilities and is acting against the CSS, it said.
