Mao Council conducted a consultative meeting from October 29 to 30 at Tadubi.
The meeting deliberated the present political, economic, education and social conditions for the community in particular and Nagas in general.
The meeting endorsed the decision of severing political tie with Manipur Government decided by Naga People Convention and Naga Hoho.
The house also supported the ongoing political talk between NSCN (IM) and Government of India and urged the concerned parties to expedite for early settlement.
The meeting also decided to maintain good relationship and harmony with the neighbouring tribes/community Naga brothers.
It further resolved to take up action with concerned organisation for sensitising and imparting quality education in Mao area.
It was also agreed that all decisions which are political in nature concerning the Mao community should be taken by Mao Council and give directives to its members as and when necessary.
