The post harvest festival of the Hmars would be celebrated at Saikwat, Churachandpur from December 15 to 17.In a statement issued by the celebration committee, it informed that chief minister O Ibobi, Health minister L Nandakumar, IFCD minister T Phungjathang, Arts and Culture minister Ph Parijat, former speaker T N Haokip and many others would grace the celebration while director of RIMS, prof L Fimate would be the Sikpuipa, the chief host of the function.
A seminar on ' relevance of horticulture for the purpose of eliminating traditional practices of jhooming and generating self employment' is scheduled on December 15 as a part of the festival whereat chief secretary, Jarnail Singh and managing director of National Horticulture Board, Government of India, Dr J N Chamber would be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively, it added.
By the sideline of the festival, a free medical camp would be organised in which ten specialists and several doctors would provide medical service including
free medicines to the needy, informed the statement.
