With two victories from as many match in the final round of the ongoing All India Inter-University Women's Football Tournament host MU need only a draw from its last tie tomorrow to clinch the championship title.
On the second day matches of the final round, being competed by four teams, today, Manipur University eves trounced Delhi university 5-0 while Punjab university stamped its superiority over Guru Nanak Dev University with a 2-0 win.
Host MU had defeated Punjab university by a solitary goal yesterday with DU suffering 0-2 defeat against GND.
Dhanapati emerged as the highest scorer completing a hattrick in MU's debacle of DU.
N Malemnganbi opened the score account within two minutes of the game while Y Kherodarani doubled the score in the 12th minute.
In the Punjab versus GND university encounter, which the former won 2-0, Manjit Kaur (34th) and Saturinagar Kaur (81st) were the scorers.
