Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh would be leaving Imphal for Guwahati tomorrow to take part in the inaugural function of Shilpagram, a cultural centre set up exclisively for the North Eastern States under the auspices of North East Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC) there on January 17.Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh would be inaugurating the cultural centre, which is first of its kind in the whole North East region.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has been invited to the function by Nagaland Governor Shyamal Dutta who is also the chairman of NEZCC.
Talking to The Sangai Express today, Minister of Art and Culture Ph Parijat said Shilpagram has been set up permanently with the objective of promoting cultural activities in the entire North East States.
Each of the North Eastern States would be having their own tableau in addition to separate places to accommodate the cultural troupes coming from these States including Manipur in the Shilpagram, the Art and Culture Minister informed.
