M Landhoni starts fast in NIA custody

The fast of Moirangthem Landhoni Devi in jail after NIA had taken her into custody after she was arrested from Guwahati with some other members of the UNLF has entered the third day today.
The health of the 44-year old woman has deteriorated, a report from Guwahati said.
Landhoni's husband was among those UNLF members arrested by security forces on August 18, 2010 .
She had unsuccessfuly attempted to meet her husband and was recently brought back to Imphal.
Since then she has been on bail.
Later, she was taken to Guwahati by the Assam Police.
She was among 19 UNLF members charge-sheeted by NIA for plotting a "systematic war against India" and trying to bring Maoists and three other outfits of Manipur under one umbrella to "destabilize" the country.
Decrying the charges levelled against her by the NIA, she started fasting from March 8, a day after she was produced in the special NIA court in Guwahati.
Her bail petition was rejected by the court on the same day.
Taking the stir seriously, jail authorities are trying to force feed her.
But she is remaining firm on her decision to continue with her stir, the report said.
In the meantime, family members of Landoni has strongly condemned the jail authority in Guwahati for not allowing to meet her.
