In continuation of its Sajibu Khudol Tamba Eegi Khongul Liba programme which was kick-started on March 26 by All Manipur Ethnical SocioCultural Organisation (AMESCO) in collaboration with other social organisations, a similar function marked by presentation of simple gifts was held today at Bongbal Khullen under Sadar Hills.
Giving a key-note address at the function, vice-president of AMESCO IB Luwang remarked that the programme is specially organised to restore the filial bond between the people of hills and valley which became strained at certain historical points of time and to pay homage to the martyrs of the land.
Women members of the organisers presented gifts to leaders and elders of the village.
Today's programme jointly organised by AMESCO, Imphal East United Clubs Organisation (IEUCO), Poirei Apunba Leimarol Meira Paibi (PALEM) and Imphal Eastern Clubs Development Organisation (ECDO) was participated by leaders and representatives of Bongbal and surrounding villages.
The function was attended by AMESCO president LS Guite, ECDO president Biren Victor, chief of Bongbal village Poutinmang Kipgen and chief of Nongdam Tangkhul JS Ramthing, social worker L Haongam, advisor of PALEM Ibechaobi and Paotinthang Vaiphei as presidium members.
The participants of the function also observed two minutes' silence to condole Muheni Martin and Hrinii Hubert.
