A seminar cum workshop on 'Modernisation of Madrasah Education' in Manipur was held today at the Conference Hall of the Sadar Bazar Jama Masjid, Masjid Road, Imphal which was organised by Federation of Madrasahs, Manipur (FMM) in collaboration with the Manipur State Minorities Commission.
The event was chaired by Alhaj MA Halim Choudhury, Chairperson of Manipur state Minorities Commission, while the function was moderated by Alhaj AR Khan, Commissioner of Labour and Employment.
MA Sattar, Commissioner of Economics and Statistics, and Alhaj MA Salam, Deputy Secretary of MOBC were present on the dais.
Among other the seminar resolved the modernisation of Madrasah Education be implemented as per scheme in the Prime Minister's 15-point programmes without affecting the moral and spiritual contents in the system of Madrasah.
It also resolved to maintain the quality of the education in the Madrasahs, a state Madrasah Board be instituted as it is implemented in other states like Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Kerala, etc.
FMM is entrusted to pressurise the state government on the issues of establishing the Board and Modernisation.
Further, the seminar resolved all Madrasahs in the process of modernisation be enrolled as members of the federation so as to enable them communicate with the federation from time to tome and may go together in the process of modernisation.
