Two alleged suppliers of intoxicating drugs who managed to escape from the local people of Lilong by opening fire last night were apprehended by troops of 32 AR yesterday itself.
The duo identified as Md Sheikh Giauddin (29) s/o Md Nazimuddin of Lilong Tairen Makhong and Md Amzad Ali s/o Md Jane of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai were then handed over to Lilong police station.
They were handed over to Lilong PS after being paraded in front of AMADA Lilong Local Council, Lilong Nagar Panchayat inside the Lilong premises of 32 AR today.
Speaking to reporters on the incident, president of AMADA Lilong Local Council Kh Liyaqat Ali said that AMADA volunteers, acting on specific information that some people have supplying N-10 and SP tablets every day to some houses located at Lilong Bazar, waited for the suppliers at about 10 last night.
Soon two people came in a Gypsy.
Knowing that they were the drug suppliers, local people including AMADA volunteers tried to round them up.
But they managed to escape in their vehicle by opening fire.
Moreover, 1600 pieces of N-10 tablets seized from one Sabnam of Lilong Bazar by AMADA volunteers were also consigned to flames inside the AR post today.
