Health Minister Ph Parijat has assured that necessary steps will be taken up soon to established a Community Health Centre at Purul in Senapati district.
Speaking as chief guest on the occasion of Purul Settlement Day and Poumai New Year Day at Purul Poumai centre ground today, Parijat pledged that maximum efforts will be put in to fulfil all the possible demands of the Poumai Union as contained in their six point memorandum submitted to the Minister.
Regarding the demand of the Poumai Union for a CHC at Purul, Parijat explained that establishment of a CHC depends on the total population of the area.
It requires a population of 70,000 to 80,000 at the minimum, he said adding he will see if a CHC can be constructed at Purul.
As for establishment of a police station at Purul and implementation of child development projects and development of the road from Maram to Purul, Parijat assured that everything possible will be taken up soon to address the grievances of the people in consultation with other Departments concerned.
The Minister also donated Rs 25,000 to the organising committee of the celebration.
The celebration which also featured several cultural programmes was graced by MLA RK Theko as functional president and Tribal Development Minister DD Thaisii as guest of honour.
The celebration will conclude tomorrow.
