The Gauhati High Court has stayed the recruitment proces of one Senior Scientific Assistant in the Manipur Pollution Control Board.
The interim order was passed by Justice BD Agarwal in his Imphal Bench sitting yesterday following a writ petition filed by one Tourangbam Netrajit who is currently serving as sample collector in MPCB.
According to case dossiers, the petitioner had submitted numerous applications to amend the recruitment rules of SSA so as to create promotion avenue from the post of sample colllector as the existing RR allows only direct recruitment to the same post.
Followong a series of applications, Member Secretary of MPCB had submitted a draft amended RR of SSA to the Additional Chief Secretary for perusal and approval on October 6 this year.
Even as the matter was being processed in the Department of Personal, MPCB authorities published an advertisement on November 27 for direct recruitment of SSA.
After hearing both the parties, the Court directed the State respondentsCommissioner/Secretary (Forest and Environment), Commissioner/Secretary (DP) and Member Secretary MPCB to put on hold the recruitment process of the SSA post until further order from the Court.
However, the interim order shall not be applicable to the post of LDCs and peons mentioned in the same advertisement.
The Court further issued rule to the respondents making them returnable within six weeks.
