Imphal, April 15: Lt Gen Arvind Sharma, AVSM, VSM, GOC in-charge of Eastern Command arrived at Imphal yesterday on his two day visit to IGAR (South) and formations under command.

The Army chief was accompanied by Lt Gen Daljeet Singh, AVSM, VSM, GOC 3 Corps.

The General Officer visited formations deployed in Senapati and Ukhrul to review the counter insurgency situation.

He emphasised the importance of people friendly operations to enhance the security level in Manipur to facilitate the people to concentrate on their economic development and prosperity.
