Imphal, April 15: The 25th anniversary of the proscribed KCP was celebrated at Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, CCpur, Chandel and other districts yesterday.

In a statement, the MK Mangang group of the outfit said that the main theme of the day was discussion on how to regain the lost freedom of the land and people and distributing simple gifts to the people.

Red Army of the outfit along with local volunteers also conducted social service at many places while sports and games were also organised.

A feast for the village chiefs of the hills and KCP leaders was also held in connection with the day, said the statement.

The day was also marked by a renewed commitment to carry on the struggle to win back the lost sovereignty of the people, said the statement and added that henceforth it will start striking out at all the impostors who have been tarnishing the image of the outfit and the revolutionary movements in the land.

To save the Manipuri community it is imperative to uproot the alien rule, said KCP and added that it will continue to extend its support to the movement to implement Meetei Mayek.

The outfit also made it clear that it is not in any way connected with MEELAL but added that it cannot divest itself from the indigenous script and will support the movement to demand its implementation.
