Social worker Amrik Singh Pahwa was among the 1190 Sikhs who recently visited various Sikh shrines in Pakistan as part of a goodwill mission to the neighboring country.
Pahwa led the delegation from eastern India.
During their 11 day sojourn at Pakistan; the team which comprised of Sikhs drawn from different parts of the world, visited six important shrines including the birth place of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, said Pahwa.
The goodwill team was given a warm reception by the people of Pakistan particularly the Sikh community, he added.
At Lahore Pahwa and P Sinha, Senior Officer of the Indian High Commission at Islamabad were bestowed with the highest Gurdwara honour, 'Siropa' at Lahorem Gurdwara.
Interestingly the Sikh community at Pakistan was aware of the Manipuri culture, particularly Manipuri dance.
