Imphal, June 23: Unidentified gunmen shot two drug addicts on the leg at Thana Leikai under Moirang PS last night at around 9, said sources.

The two youths have been as Phairenbam Kumar (25) s/o Ph Ibomcha and Kongjenbam Iboyaima (25) s/o Gopalmacha from Moirang Thana Leikai.

Both were immediately rushed to RIMS for medical treatment but later discharged in the wee hours of today morning as the injuries were not serious.

In another incident, a youth was killed and another injured when the Honda Activa they were driving collided with a jeep near Bijoy Govinda Thangapat Mapal.

The deceased youth has been identified as one Ningthoujam Badal (17) of Lalambung Makhong Ningthoujam Leikai while the injured has been identified as Sanglakpam Chetan (19) of Thangmeiband Lairenjarn Leikai.

Badal's body was handed to family members after post mortem at RIMS.

Body recovered: The body of the non Manipuri who went missing after jumping into the Nambul River on June 21 was fished out from the river near Aryan Theatre Sagolband, said sources.

According to reports the victim has been identified as Suraj Bhan Sahu (25) of Bihar and residing at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai.

The body was retrieved from the river today and later deposited at RIMS Morgue for post mortem.
