Chief Minister O Ibobi today left for New Delhi to consult with the AICC high command and take a final decision on the downsizing of the Ministry which is scheduled to come into effect from July 7.The CM was accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya, Works Minister Gaikhangam, Horticulture and Soil Conservation Minister RK Theko and Family Welfare Minister Bijoy Koijam.
The Chief Minister was summoned by AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take a final decision on the impending downsizing.
Speaking to The Sangai Express prior to his departure, MP Dr T Meinya said that the Chief Minister will present the tentative list of who will be dropped and who should be retained to the AICC high command.
Of the 12 who will remain in the Ministry one each may be reserved for the CPI and MSCP.
MSCP president M Hemanta said that Sonia Gandhi has already assured that its two MLAs will be inducted in the Ministry.
This has also been intimated to the Chief Minister, added Hemanta.
During the Steering Committee meeting held yesterday, the CPI did not put up any demand on the number of its Ministers.
