Imphal, March 22: In view of the problems being faced by Langthabal Khoupum village over conversion issue, this year Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) while upholding the constitution of Zeliangrong Union and Zeliangrong Youth Front has directed the two contenting parties to resolve the issue and work towards promotion of peace and harmony so as to pave way for strengthening unity among Zeliangrong people in general and within Langthabal Khoupum in particular.

Peaceful atmosphere and unity among the villagers should not be hampered and posed a threat to the entire Zeliangrong community out of the unfortunate incidents occurred in the village and the problems, if there is any, should be settled in mutually within Zeliangrong community so as to cement the fabric of love and prevail congenial atmosphere, the directives issued by ZYF president Poujang Kamei said, adding that ZYF would be compelled to take up necessary action in accordance with the customary laws of Zeliangrong community if the parties concerned fail to comply with the directive.

KSO appeals: Kuki Students' Organization (KSO) General Headquarters has earnestly appealed to the State Government for bringing an amicable solution with the striking part time lecturers of Govt Higher Secondary schools and ends their ongoing stir in the interest of the student community.

The frequent strike called by the part time lecturers have directly victimized the students' community besides giving great hindrance to the collective efforts being made for ushering in quality education in the State, information secretary of KSO Thangminlen Haokip lamented in a statement.

The ongoing strike has also totally disturbed the conduct of HSSLC examination particularly in schools located in hill areas which are almost entirely run part time lecturers, he said, urging the Government to arrive at an amicable solution with the striking lecturers.
