UNLF salutes slain cadres

Imphal, January 22: The proscribed UNLF has offered revolutionary salutes to its three cadres who died fighting the security personnel at Parbung in Tipaimukh sub-division on January 20. In a statement, the outfit said that fitting tributes have been paid to the three departed souls identified as 2nd Lt L Meiranba alias Dinesh of Lamangdong Chingdong ward number 10, private K Machaton alias Roshan of Moirang Turelbal Leikai and private Md Ali Khan alias Lashkar of Lakhipur part-I Cachar.

Paying tributes to the three slain cadres, UNLF said that Meiranba had taken parts in many battles against the security personnel at CCpur, Tamenglong and Jiribam.

Meiranba also showed exemplary courage and guts in the encounter with the security personnel under its operation �Hifazat', said UNLF and added that the other two slain cadres also demonstrated rare courage and lived up to the outfit's dictum of sacrifice.

In the gun fight at Parbung, the MPA cadres killed the Deputy Commandant of the 13 Dogra Regiment, said UNLF and identified him as Lt Col Bakshi.

UNLF also shared the grief and pain of the family members of the three slain cadres.
