Imphal, May 29:
Rather than allot vacant seats to deserving candidates who secured higher marks RIMS authorities have entertained lowly placed candidates in clinical subjects (psychiatry and anaesthesiology) for PG Courses at the medical institute, said source.
Two candidates that ranked 13th and 15th during the April 4 PG Entrance Examination were offered the seats inspite of availability of other candidates who secured more marks than the two, alleged the source.
The irony of the whole exercise is the fact that higher ranked candidates had applied in writing for the vacant seats also but failed to yield the positive response from the RIMS authorities.
The sly allotment of seats also concerns a daughter of a responsible authority of RIMS that in normal procedures requires sponsorship of either RIMS or concerned Government, the source decried.
