The Naga People's Organization (NPO)has strongly condemned the looting and harassment of Senapati District Postal Mail van on November 9 last between Mao and Tadubi by some miscreants, has also expressed solidarity to the employees of the Manipur Postal Division.
In a press release, the NPO has appealed to the same to kindly resume postal services in the District as it has seriously handicapped and disrupted the general public's accessibility to the service.
The NPO also demands the district administration and concerned authorities to book and punish the culprits at the earliest to ensure the safety of postal services in the district.
Seriously taking account of the looting of the driver and mail guard and the public mail van, the general public are suffering miserably due to the cease work of the postal department in the district as no emergency and mailing service are available to the people.
Moreover, even the Railway Reservation Counter (RRC) installed recently at Senapati district H/Q in not operational to the public due to the cease work of the department.
The NPO taking note of the monetary demands and threats to the postal department has appealed to the concerned organizations or groups to stop such activities as the service is a non-profit public service rendering help to communicate and connect people.
