Fraudulent practices of the now abolished Technical and Promotion (TP) Cell such as initiation of work before the requisite was deposited in it by the relevant Departments have been exposed.
Such fraudulent practices were discovered during a review meeting held today with the Chief Secretary on the chair on funds deposited by different Departments in TP Cell, works implemented by the cell and the works left incomplete.
Even as the FCS Department was yet to deposit Rs 1404.81 lakhs, the TP Cell had already started implementing works of estimated amount Rs 169.36 lakhs.
Likewise, before the requisite funds has not been deposited, the cell started implementing works of estimated amount Rs 280 lakhs for Cooperative Department, Rs 3533.78 lakhs for Health Department, Rs 216 lakhs for OBC Department, 692.92 lakhs for Education Department, Rs 500 lakhs for Labour Department, Rs 211.61 for DIPR, Rs 338.69 lakhs for Tourism Department and Rs 39 lakhs for Family Welfare Department.
The meeting studied on removing the works from TP cell in case the works have not been completed up to 50 percent.
For these works, the cell may be asked to refund the amount deposited.
For works completed by above 50 percent, the cell may be allowed to complete the same.
New Singjamei PS building inaugurated: Director General of Police (DGP) Yumnam Joykumar Singh, IPS today inaugurated a newly constructed building of the Singjamei Police Station today morning.
The DGP unveiled the inauguration stone and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the 10-room building with four attached toilets constructed by Manipur Police Housing Corporation at an estimation cost of Rs 24.9 lakhs under Sate Police Modernisation project.
After the inauguration, the DGP inspected the building along with SSP of Imphal West L Kailun and other sub-ordinate officers.
Talking to mediapersons at the occasion, Joykumar informed that works under underway for erecting fencing around the newly inaugurated building.
The new buildings of other police stations would also be constructed in a phase-wise manner with the target of completing the work in the next 3 to 4 years, the DGP informed, adding that 60 percent of the work with regard to construction of the building of Sagolmang Police Station has been completed so far.
