Even as security arrangement at strategic locations especially at Government institutions had been tightened personnel of Imphal West district police today arrested another person said to be involved in the State Central Library burning case.
Interacting with news persons the Imphal West SP S Ibocha identified the arrested person as one Leishangthem Ibochouba (33) of Thoubal Leishangthem.
Claimed to be a MEELAL activists, the SP revealed of rounding up Ibochouba from the Khomidok residence of one Md Bahauddin.
The police haul-up include all the family members of Bahauddin, he said.
The news-persons were made to witness police interrogation of Ibochouba along with Th Anandkumar and S Surjit - arrested moments after the Library razing.
The trio after confessing of their involvement in the act of vandalism had also disclosed names of nine others involved in the April 13 afternoon incident, asserted the SP while exuding confidence of nabbing the remaining culprits 'very soon'.
On the other hand, informed sources disclosed of deployment of well armed security personnel round the clock at Government establishments where important documents are preserved and which are likely to be target of script agitators.
The said Government offices are the Library and Manipuri Department of Manipur University, Session Court (Uripok), Manipur Institute of Technology (Takyel), Board of Secondary Education Manipur, Manipur State Museum, State Archives Complex, Lamphel office premise of Directorate of Education (S) and Directorate Complex located at 2nd Manipur Rifles gate.
Besides security personnel deployment at the Government establishments additional security measures had been enforced at important Imphal West district areas under command of either an SDPO or a Dy SP ranked officers clustered into five divisions.
