MBSU beat its opponent and won the first match today in the 4th Manipur State League organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the Vision India Project of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal, while the second match concluded in a goalless tie.
The first match today was played between Manipur Brothers' Sporting Union (MBSU), Wahengbam Leikai and Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU), Kwakeithel.
In a keenly contested match MBSU won the match after defeating TRAU 2-1 .
Both teams played the match in a very competitive way, each one trying to dominate over one another.
However lack of better coordination among the players of TRAU resulted to their lost.
On the other hand MBSU played the match with full coordination among themselves.
MBSU took the first lead in the 3rd minute of the match with a goal of S Kishan.
With one goal ahead of them, TRAU players tried their best to equalise the score but could not succeeded in the first half.
But in the second half TRAU got their golden chance equalise the score when they were awarded a free kick in the 48th minute of the match.
L Lolendro nicely converted the free kick into their equaliser.
But their joy were shortlived when MBSU registered their second goal against them in the 50th minute of the match and locked the fate of the match.
No further goals were scored by any teams and the match concluded with MBSU winning.
The winning goal of MBSU was scored by Th Geet.
M Romi of MPSC and K Priyokumar of TRAU were issued a yellow card each for their unsporting behaviour during the match.
Later the second match which was played between Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) and United Sports Academy (USA), Khurai concluded in a goalless tie since no teams could scored a single goal against one another.
Both teams displayed a real tough fight against one another throughout the match.
They played the match with full determination to win.
As they played the match with almost equal skills and tactics they found it impossible to register any goals against one another.
M Robinson of USA was issued a yellow card for his unsporting behaviour during the match.
