State junior girls' football team gave goalless Rajashtna a stunning defeat in the first match as the 8th Girls' Junior National Football Championship, 2009-10 began today at Cuttack, Orissa.
The championship will conclude on December 11 next.
Altogether 25 states of India are participating in this championship.
The preliminary qualifying round will be conducted through eight clusters.
Tamil Nadu, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh will compete in cluster I.Orissa, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh will compete in cluster II.
Manipur and Rajasthan will compete in cluster III as Karanataka which was in the same cluster had withdrawn from the championship.
Tripura, Pondicherry, Chandigarh and West Bengal will compete in cluster IV.
Goa, Jammu and Kashmir and Chhattisgarh will compete in cluster V .
Haryana, Maharashtra and Mizoram will compete in cluster VI.
Assam, Gurarat, Uttarkhand and Himachal Pradesh will compete in cluster VII.
Jharkhand, Punjab and Kerala will compete in cluster VIII.
In the first match of cluster III today, Manipur defeated goalless Rajasthan with 18 goals and registered its first win.
Displaying its dominant nature, state girls dominated the players of opponent Rajasthan through the whole course of the match right from the beginning.
State girls gave them no chance to strike back.
On the other hand players of Rajasthan found it impossible to hold their own defence line and defend themselves against the various attacks of Manipur.
State player Pramodini registered the first goal of Manipur in the 7th minute of the match.
She later scored another three goals against Rajasthan in the 34th, 39th and 64th minutes.
Rinaroy scored five goals against Rajasthan in the 10th, 12th, 26th, 56th and 67th minutes of the match.
Premi scored three goals in the 15th, 18th and 78th minutes.
Bina scored three goals against 21st, 33rd and 50th minutes.
Nungshitombi, Rameshwari and Bembem also scored one goal each against Rajasthan in the 36th, 54th and 72nd minutes of the match.
On the other hand no players of Rajasthan could scored a single goal against Manipur.
