As the last match of the Imphal West District First Division Football League Tournament, 2009 organised by the Imphal West District Football Association (IWDFA) played today between CYLC and PHLYO at THAU ground, Thangmeiband, Imphal, CYLC clinched the winner's title.
In the last match of the tournament played today, CYLC beat PHLYO 4 2 and won the match.
Players of CYLC dominantly played the match from the beginning giving little chance for PHLYO to strike back against them.
The first goal of the match was scored in the 10th minute of the match by Gyanandro of CYLC.
Their second goal was scored by Kh Amujao in the 19th minute of the match.
In the 22nd minute, N Aboy scored CYLC's third goal against PHLYO.
On the other hand no players of PHLYO could scored any goal against CYLC in the first half.
Players of PHLYO played the second half of the match with better coordination and tried hard to equalise the scores.
But to their disappointment, G naote Kabui of CYLC scored his team's third goal in the 47th minute of the match.
But, players of PHLYO did not lose their hearts and fought back valliantly.
They scored their first goal against CYLC in the 51st minute of the match.
Amitkumar scored the goal.
Their second goal was scored by K Indranath in the 72nd minute of the match.
With only two goals ahead of their opponent team, CYLC players began to play the match more substantially since the match was a must-win match for them to win the tournament.
Both teams' players fought the last few minutes of the match in a real tough way.
PHLYO players tried their best to equalise the score.
On the other hand, CYLC players tried their best to defend themselves against any further goal from PHLYO.
No further goals were scored by both teams and the match concluded with CYLC winning.
The final point in the tally was 23 points each for CYLC and YPHU.
However, CYLC have more goal for and won the tournament while YPHU was in the second place.
Since, they won the tournament, CYLC have entered the Super League next season.
On the other hand SICO was in the last place with only four points and has been relegated to Second Division League next season.
Other teams' position: PHLYO (3rd), KRYPSA (4th), CRPF (5th), CHIKL (6th), NYC (7th), SAI (8th) and HNSC (9th).
