Riding on skipper A Monorama's brace, SAI RC convincingly drubbed Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur (PHAM) 6-1 in the final of IX Sub-junior State Level Girls Hockey Championship today at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.
The final match which was expected to be a keenly contest match turn out to be a one sided affair as SAI RC tighten its grip as the match progress.
The winner outplayed its opponent in every department of the game and sounded the board at regular intervals keeping the score board ticking.
P Leena open SAI RC account in the 10th minute through a cross by P Ranjita from the left flank.
Leena made no mistake in guiding the ball home much to the joy of her team-mates.
Ranjita was also instrumental in scoring the second goal when she made the first attempt at the goal in the 18th minute.
However, the ball deflected from the stick of PHAM defender and O Achoubi happily put the ball into the box.
Six minutes later Kh Nirmala scored the third goal for the team.
Ranjita hard work finally paid off in the 37th minute when she put the ball into the box much to the expectation of the crowd.
SAI RC captain A Monorama brace came within a span of 10 minute when she sounded the board hard in the 45th minute when she converted a penalty corner.
Ten minutes later she also scored a goal taking the score to six goals.
The lone face-saving goal for PHAM came in the 25th minute through a penalty corner when L Premika converted Ksh Susma's puss into a goal.
