Nagaland drubbed Sikkim by three goals to one while Sports Authority of India (SAI) Blue Imphal drew with Mizoram by one goal each on the fourth day of ongoing 2nd Dr T Ao Doner football tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung here.
Three players � two for Mizoram and one for Sai (Blue) were expelled (booked red card) for misconduct.
On the first ground, Nagaland defeated Sikkim by three goals to one.
Right from the word go from the referee Naga boys launched attacks incessantly.
The breakthrough in the first half came as early as at 10 minute.
M Francis headed the ball which was reflected from Yapang�s heading.
The ball came in the mid-air from a corner kick by Kethokhrietuo.
Sikkim tried every effort to equalize the goal.
However its striker could not overcome the tough defence line of Nagaland.
Nagaland on the other hand put their strikers on aggressive to increase the goal margin.
Their attack bear fruit in 24 minute when Renthungo scored another goal.
The third and last goal for Nagaland was scored in 46 minute (injury time).
Visakholie scored the goal through a cross by Yapang from the right flank.
Sikkim made their defence line stronger by substituting two players.
Even though Nagalnad made several attempts to increase their goal margin Sikkim defender foiled the attempts.
Sikkim seemed aggressive this time with launching goal attempts.
Their solitary goal came in 84 minute when Sushi Rai netted a ball crossed by Amosh Subba from the left flank.
The match ended with Nagaland drubbing Sikkim by 3 goals to one.
In the second ground, SAI (Blue) Imphal drew with Mizoram at one goal each.
As both teams were balanced in all fronts the match was so exciting and very competitive.
In their efforts to posses ball and score goals players of both side became very aggressive.
Referee expelled two players of Mizoram � Jonathana and Lalnunkima and one player of SAI (Blue) Namdaibonang for misconduct.
The three players made a brief fight in 91 minute after Namdaibonang and Jonathana tried to posse the ball in the D-box area of Mizoram.
Referee also booked yellow cards to F Lalnuanhlua and K Zosangliana of Mizoram in 60 and 64 minute respectively for protesting a decision of referee and Th.Joychandra of SAI (Blue) in 61 for misconduct.
The expulsion was the first case of the tournament.
Today�s booking of yellow card is the highest for the tournament.
The breakthrough in the first half came when L Danny of SAI (Blue) Imphal netted a ball crossed by Th.Joychandra from right flank in 23rd minute.
After several attempts Mizoram got its equalizer in 41st minute when Lalhriatzuala netted a ball reflected from the goalkeeper William Kso of SAI (Blue).
The ball was shot directly to the goalmouth by F Lalnuanhlua.
The second half was become more competitive as both teams launched several attacks and counter-attacks to find the breakthrough.
As they became aggressive number of faults were committed by players both teams while trying to posse the ball which compelled the referee to book yellow cards and expulsion of players.
When the last whistle came from the referee the breakthrough could not made by both teams.
