Judo Federation of India selected four Manipur women judokas for the Asian Judo Championship to be held at Almaty, Kazakhstan from May 13-17.The championship, which will see 39 Asian countries vie for honours, is the last qualifying event for the forthcoming Athens Olympics.
India is fielding 10 judokas 5 each for women and men category.
The four women judokas who will vie for Olympics berth in their respective weight categories are - Khumujam Tombi Devi, Angom Anita Chanu, Laishram, Nirupama Devi, Yumnam Landhoni Devi.
Anita Chanu have already earned some valuable points in other international events to keep herself in hunt for a berth in the Athens Olympics and would have a chance to make the grade.
It is not certain whether Olympian Y Brojeshwori will participate in the Athens Olympics or not.
Meanwhile, W Amutombi Singh OF Manipur has been selected to take part in Pre-Olympic qualifier.
Amutombi is among two from India selected to participate at the qualifiers scheduled to be held in Japan later this month.
