All Manipur Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union, Manipur Drivers Welfare Association, All Manipur Inter-State Bus Association, Imphal Silchar Road Transport Welfare Society and JAC Imphal Moreh Road Transporter have re-imposed its chakka bandh from 5 am of August 18. A joint press statement of the five transport bodies said that looting of an Inter State bus (MN-01 1848) on August 16 at near Changoubung on NH-39 and detention of a Silchar bound passenger vehicle at T Khulen, near New Keithelmanbi on NH-53 by unidentified persons on August 2 testify that the Government fails to provide security to transporters.
The chakka bandh was earlier relaxed for four days.
