The titular king of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba today has drawn the attention of the Prime Minister of the country for an early solution to the people's agitations in the wake of July 23 incident of Kwairamband Bazar.
In a representation furnished to the Prime Minister, the titular king stated that as the unrest situation comes up amidst the apprehension people of the state of facing food scarcity in the coming year due to the shortage, Centre should interfere for bringing an amicable solution at the earliest.
It further mention that the July 23 firing incident at Khwairamband Bazar, Imphal killing two and injuring five others has been concluded as fake encounter and indiscriminate killing of the police commandos as revealed by the exposure of Tehelka has diverted mind of every people of the state.
The PM might have the knowledge as it has been already fuetured in the Rajya Sabha after CPI(IM) MP.
Dr Ramchandra Dome had already brought up the matter on August 7 last, it said.
Thousands of women have been widowed while another thousand of mothers are crying for their lost sons and lives in the peaceless and restless in the last few decades and this state has almost become a land of horror and terror.
Dissatisfied over the long unheard and worries unattended, people are protesting by staging dharnas in several parts of the state and also launched general strikes/bandhs amidst the tight security botherless of the consequences and the number of injuries increase day by day.
The gravity of the situation is quite alarming and minds the good future of the people, he stated drawing the attention of the prime minister once again to take up possible democratical steps to solve the present situation and bring normalcy without further delay in the interest of the state.
