Women Action for Development (WAD) strongly condemned the alleged breaking of cease fire ground rules by 23 Assam Rifles and killing of two NSCN (IM) cadres at between Godah and Shakok under Phungyar police station on August 12.WAD expressed concern over the emotional and mental insecurity and harassment given to the villagers at Alang Lamkhai while they were fleeing with fear with the sounds of gunshots and bomb explosions.
The women body further alleged that the State and Central Government failed completely in ensuring safety and livelihood to its people.
WAD also showed solidarity with the people of Ukhrul and lauded the womenfolk who took active part in exemplary movement.
