Imphal, January 30:
A four-day nature orientation camp for the students of class VI to X of Ukhrul district has begun from today at the complex of United Christian Academy, Riha, Ukhrul.
The camp is being organised by Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC), Imphal in association with Manipur Development Agency, Murei and is being catalysed and supported by NCSTC, DST, Government of India.
The main objective of the camp is to educate the children about nature for enhancing their curiosity about the things around them and to guide them into exploring the environment by themselves.
Selection Grade Lecturer of Modern College, Imphal L Somarjit Singh, Reader of DM College of Science Dr O Shashikumar Singh, secretary of Manipur Development Agency, Murei M Martin and principal of United Christian Academy, Riha attended the inaugural function of the camp as resource persons and honoured guests.
In all 45 participates including guide teachers are attending in the 4-day long camp.
