A public meeting held at the office of Sagoltongba Youth Union Club today has taken strong exception to the failure of all the underground organisations to come out with their clarification in connection with the killing of the club general secretary Chongtham Anando Singh by unidentified gunmen on January 21. Anando had been shot dead after being abducted from a place where he witnessing a Shumang Leela cum Housie organised to drive fund for construction of a local deity.
While reiterating the appeal to all the underground organisations to make their stand clear on the issue through media within February 1 and help in identifying the killers so that befitting punishment could be given, , the meeting has also resolved to ban entry of outsiders in Sagoltongba area until the case has been solved from 5 pm to 6 am every day with immediate effect.
The meeting resolved to imposed an indefinite bandh along National Highway 53 with effect from 6 am of February 2 the demand for clarification and identifying the killers are not comply with by all concerned, according to a statement signed by president of Sagoltongba Youth Union Club Ch Mohan Singh.
