Imphal, January 30:
Asserting that it was the KYKL which was responsible for executing four of its cadres, the proscribed PULF today asked the former to explain why they were killed.
Four PULF cadres, Md Amir Khan alias Samir, Md Rajimuddin, Ithem Alias A Rahman and Md Riyas Khan were found shot to death at Salungpham in Thoubal district some days back.
In a statement, PULF said that they were sent to the camp of one Nishikanta of the KYKL along with Rs 12 lakhs to procure weapons after a series of talks between Nishikanta and Raj Khan, who is the deputy finance of Thoubal district.
They were killed after they had spent one night at the camp of the KYKL.
PULF never thought that such an incident would occur, because the leaders of the outfit and leaders of KYKL had met several times earlier and shared ideas and had talks on many issues.
Cadres of the two outfits often share their meals wherever their camps are located near to each other, said the statement further.
Asserting that PULF has never entertained the idea of internecine killings or anti-revolutionary activities, the statement said that if the four cadres had been killed in a case of mistaken identity or misinformation, then it would not have been so disturbing.
However the four were killed without assigning any reason, said the outfit and added that even if they had committed any mistake, it would have been much more positive if prior information was given to the PULF leaders.
The statement added that there is also strong suspicion that the four could have been killed because of the Rs 12 lakhs they had with them.
PULF also paid its revolutionary salutes to the four slain cadres and prayed to the Almighty for their souls.
