With the end of the economic blockade of the Senapati District Students Association at midnight of Tuesday, normal traffic on the stretch of the Imphal-Mao section of the NH-39 resumed Wednesday after 16 days of disturbances.
SDSA, late yesterday, announced that the economic blockade stir of the body has been call-off with the reaching of an amicable solution with the authority of the Manipur government.
The SDSA imposed the indefinite blockade on the stretch of the Imphal-Mao section of the NH-39 effective from midnight of February 1 strongly protesting against the government failure to translate agreed demand of making improvement of the deteriorated condition of the highway.
With the ending of the blockade, normal traffic along the stretch of the highway resumed Wednesday.
However, most of the petrol filling stations in Imphal area continued closed down citing that petrol stokes are yet to replenish.
