Imphal, January 13, 2012:
As an iniatiative to prevent unwanted incidents in the coming elections, 38 Assam Rifles of 27 Sector under the aegis of Red Shield Division intercepted illicit liquor reportedly meant to lure voters along Tipaimukh road today.
In yet another incident, an amount of Rs 7.5 lakhs was also intercepted by 46 Assam Rilfes from a Bolero vehicle today.
The intercepted amount was reportedly meant to be distributed to voters in Thhanlon assembly constituency.
All culprits were handed over to the Flying Squad constituted by DC Churachandpur, it added.
