Calvary Hospital Team, Tedlong Village, Tamei; Longdung Sports Union, Nurathen village, Tamenglong, Nurathen Village Authority and Samuk (Tucha) Village Authority, Ireng, Senapati district have strongly condemned the November 20 incident at Langka village in which armed militants numbering around 50 to 60 allegedly assaulted villagers who have gone to repair the road stretching from Kanglatongbi to Langka as yearly routine.
According to the statements issued by these social organisations, the villagers were beaten up black and blue by the armed militants.
Identifying the victims as Chamjaibou, Wichamthuining, Apollo, Widinang and Philip, the statement maintained that the condition of Wichamthuining is still in danger.
These social organisations have also drawn the attention of the higher authorities concerned to look into the matter and ensure that such unfortunate incident do not recur.
