Jiribam, July 10 2009:
Jiribam Keithel has been shut down since this afternoon following an extortion drive launched by an unidentified UG group.
One shopkeeper, on condition of anonymity, said that some youths, numbering around five and wielding pistols ordered every shop-keeper of Jiri Keithel to pay Rs 30,000 each on or before July 15 or shut their shops in case of non-compliance.
Jiribam police and troops of 5 AR have launched a massive manhunt to nab the extortionists, reports our Jiribam correspondent.
