PC urged for setting up of Highway Protection Force

The People's Price Monitoring Committee (PPMC) has urged Union Home Minister to control the illegal activities on National Highways by setting up a full-fledged Highway Protection Force in order to allay grievances of the people of Manipur, who suffered untold miseries due to instigated and incriminated blockades and collection of taxes along the two National Highways.
In a memorandum, the PPMC has also urged the Union Home Minister to direct the formation of proce fixation body for Manipur.
The PPMC memo highlighted the grievances faced by the public of the State fue to non-fixation of proper prices of commodities for the last many years.
It also highlighted the misery of the people due to frequent blockades of National Highways and collection of tax by some underground groups which in turn effect the price hike of commodities in the State.
