Imphal, July 13 2012:
Naga Women's Union (NWU) has appreciated the declaration made by the NSCN (K) and its maturity to turn away from all forms of factional violence among Naga groups.
A statement issued by the NWU said that the union has also acclaimed the decision taken by the NSCN (K) leaders to refrain from killing each other and to call for talks and dialogue.
Stating that the younger generation is confused as to why there are many factions among Nagas, and the killing, fighting, brutal violence and torturing of innocent people among brothers, the NWU requested all the Naga groups to work together in love, truth and peace to bring the best solution.
The NWU has also condemned the act of hijacking vehicle and attempt to murder by drugging a driver and his colleague in Senapati District by four persons.
NWU in solidarity to the victims and SAYO, insisted on the Government of Manipur and the concern authorities to settle the matter without delay as the bandh and blockade cause hardships and severely affected the economy of the people in Manipur.
Naga Women's Union also extends full support to The Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long (TNWL), Ukhrul in appealing and pressurizing the competent authorities the four BDOs of Ukhrul District regarding the deduction of 50 percent of MGNREGS Material Component's Fund to fulfill the demands of the people at the earliest.
