Sachdeva Colleges Limited, New Delhi would be extending necessary assistance to bright students who like to take up professional courses after class X but could not do so because of poor financial position of the family, said Director, Franchise and Public Relations of the institute TS Luthra.
Addressing a press conference at Sachdeva New PT College at Babupara here this afternoon, Luthra said Sachdeva New PT College was set up at Imphal on September 27, 2002 with the main objective of providing knowledge guidance to the students who would like to pursue professional courses without the need to go to places like Delhi for the purpose spending huge amount of money.
Since opening up of the Centre at Imphal 30 students wee selected in Medical Entrance Examination and 60 in Engineering in 2003.In 2004, 40 students were selected in the Medical Entrance Examination including 8 toppers in CBSE preliminary and 3 in mains and 65 in Engineering Entrance Examination.
At present more than 4000 students are taking the benefit in PMT/Engineering Entrance classes at the Centre, he informed.
He announced that from this year, coaching classes for NDA, BPO, Civil Services, MBA and MCA would be started.
He further announced that 15 seat would be kept reserved for Manipuri students would like to study Computer, IT, Electronics and Communication or Mechanical Engineering from Sachdeva Institute of technology at Mathura.
Luthra made it clear that there is no other Sachdeva Centre in Manipur other than the one at Babupura, Imphal.
Anybody who uses the name to mislead the people would be dealt accordingly.
Director of Sachdeva Imphal Centre S Ranjitkumar who was also present at the press conference informed that scholarships are being given to brilliant students by his Centre.
Any students who scored not less than 60 percent of the mark in the Common Admission Test conducted by the Centre would be given the benefit of attending classes free of cost, he added.
It may be recalled here that Sachdeva New PT College was established in 1940 at Lahore, now in West Pakistan by late TN Sachdeva, a known academician and author of 35 books in economics.
