Imphal, January 21:
Charging M/S Iboyaima Tadubi Gas Agency of charging exorbitant price on filled LPG cylinders, the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has sought an impartial inquiry to redress the grievances of the consumers.
In a representation submitted to Senior Manager (LPG), Tinsukia Indane Area Office, the student body said that the agency has been violating the norms and guidelines of IOC.
The agency did not issue cash memo to its consumers and the gas agency has no office at Senapati (Tahamzam) district Hqs.
Moreover, the agency did not distribute the due share of LPG earmarked for the district with about 70 pc of the share being sold at Imphal, charged ANSAM.
Even though Deputy General Manager (LPG) Girish Phukan was deputed to investigate the irregularities of M/S Iboyaima Tadubi Gas Agency earlier, the official, instead of seeking reports from the consumers, doctored a report at Hotel Nirmala, Imphal in connivance with the proprietor of the agency, it said.
Seeking judicious intervention to redress the woes of the consumers, ANSAM said that it would not tolerate injustice to the people.
Meanwhile, the Senapati District Consumers' Club has decried the concocted statement prepared by Girish Phukan, deputed to investigate into the complaints against irregularities committed by M/S Iboyaima Gas Agency, Tadubi and its nine sub agents.
The Club also asserted that the Agency has been selling LPG at exorbitant prices at nine different outlets.
