Dimapur, July 07 2014:
With the starting of the Union Budget Session today the much hyped resumption of formal talks between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India seems to be 'far off' now.
According to sources, the formal talks can only be resumed after the ongoing Parliament Session gets over.
In that case, the Parliament Session ends on July 31 and the resumption of the formal talks between New Delhi and the Government of India can only be possible in the month of August.
Attempts to update on the latest development in connection with the talks by NNN from the both the Government and the NSCN-IM authorities proved futile today.
In the month of June, six top NSCN-IM leaders had left Dimapur for New Delhi for the purpose of talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other NDA leaders.
V.S Atem, AK Lungalang, TT Among, Victor Angami, Imcha Longkumer and Qhevihe Chisi Swu are now in Delhi joining Isak Swu and Th Muivah for the meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home minister Rajnath Singh and other Central leaders.
It is worth recalling here that NSCN-IM chairman Isak Chisi Swu and the outfit's general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah had left Dimapur for New Delhi on May 13 in connection with the ongoing peace talks.
The NSCN-IM leaders were in Nagaland since March 9 .
In those two months' stay here, the two leaders had signed the Lenten Agreement with the FGN/NNC and NSCN-Khole/Kitovi group under the aegis of Forum for Naga Reconc iliation (FNR) .Formation of the Naga National Government' formation is clearly featured in the Lenten Agreement.
The Naga National Government (NNG) is the ' Naga Concordant' signed few years ago and in the March 28's meeting these Naga underground groups agreed in principle to the formation of the NNG.
