Imphal, March 03 2013 :
All Manipur NRHM Technical Support Staff Union has threatened that it will move the Court if the State Government does not regularise the Contract employees working under National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) in the State at the earliest.
In a press conference held at Manipur Press Club today, general secretary of the union, S Pari Luwang said that around 1377 employees are being engaged on Contract basis by the State Government to implement NHRM in the State.
Saying that the State Cabinet had given its nod to appoint 22 Regular Staff Nurses and 220 ANMs, Pari Luwang urged the State Government to regularise the existing Contract employees of NHRM instead of recruiting fresh candidates.
He also recalled that Chief Minister O Ibobi had also assured regularisation of Contract employees during his speech in a function of Manipur Pradesh Congress Seva Dal held on May 5, 2011 .
Pari Luwang also said that Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had directed all the State Governments to regularise all the Contract employees under the 12th Five Year Plan as per its letter despatched on November 21, 2011 by Ministry Joint Secretary Amit Mohan Prasad.
He further said that the union would submit memoranda to the Governor, Chief Minister, Health Minister, Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) and NHRM Mission Director in this regard tomorrow.
If necessary actions are not initiated even after the submission of the memoranda, the All Manipur NRHM Technical Support Staff Union would take the Government to Court, he cautioned.
