Imphal, Jun 13:
The deep sigh of relief that some of the PCO owners have felt on getting their telephone line connected after months of running around the ever illusive JTOs and linemen of BSNL was cut short with all the lines disconnected without furnishing any reason whatsoever from today.
Talking to The Sangai Express, some of the PCO subscribers who recently got their connection informed that they were told to contact the Commercial Officer of the BSNL by 2 pm today to sort out some matter or else their lines would be disconnected.
However, when they reached the BSNL office and met the Commercial Officer, the latter could enlighten nothing on the 'urgent call' made to the worried PCO owners who were again directed to meet the dealing clerk.
The lady dealing clerk was even more tight-lipped on the matter and keep on harping that they are just following order from the AGM.
Efforts to meet the AGM was all the more infuriating to the PCO owners as the officer did not even allow them to step inside his office room saying they should come after 15 days.
When the PCO owners insisted to know why they have been called with the threat of disconnecting the telephone lines if they don't come, the officer assured that the lines would not been disconnected for the next fifteen days during which the 'matter would be sorted out'.
Interestingly, the puzzled PCO owners, informed that they have not yet come out of the office building when they learnt that their PCO lines have been already cut off leaving them in the dark as to why they have been called in the first place and cut off the line without giving any reasons.
