The MPLF, TDPF and ULFA have listed the success story of Operation Freedom launched against the Indian security force ahead of the Republic Day celebration.
In a statement issued to the press by the Co-ordination Centre of Ops Freedom, the outfits said that on January 16, the MPLF ambushed a patrol party of the 37 Assam Rifles near Kondon Lairembi on the Imphal-Moreh route at about 7.30 am killing one personnel and seriously wounding another two.
On January 17, MPLF cadres attacked a Mizoram Armed police outpost at Vaitin on the Mizoram-Manipur border, said the statement though details of the attack were not given.
Again on January 19, MPLF cadres attacked a BSF foot patrol at Churachandpur town killing one CRPF Sub-Inspector, said the statement and added that on January 20, MPLF cadres again attacked a CRPF patrol party with IED at Tronglaobi in Bishnupur district at 7.30 pm.
Three CRPF personnel were killed in the attack while another four were injured, claimed the statement.
On the attacks carried out by the ULFA in Assam and elsewhere, the statement said that on January 10, ULFA cadres destroyed a crude oil pump station at Boliaghat, Sibsagar at about 2 am and followed that up with another attack on January 13 wherein one crude oil pipeline near Sangmaigaon between Borhat and Namti railway station in Sibsagar district was destroyed.
The statement further said that on January 15, ULFA cadres destroyed crude oil pipeline at Mamoni village near Tinsukia while another crude oil pipeline was destroyed near Moran in Dibrugarh on January 20.Again on January 20, ULFA ambushed an Indian army convoy at Pasighat road in Arunachal Pradesh killing eight security personnel and destroying one vehicle of the Indian army.
Five CRPF personnel were killed in an attack on January 21 at Mendipathar in East Garo Hills of Meghalaya.
Seven others were seriously injured, added the statement.
On January 22, ULFA ambushed a convoy of the 53rd CRPF at Tikrikilla in Goalpara district on the Assam-Meghalaya border at around 7.30 pm, claimed the statement and added that six CRPF personnel were killed while ten others were seriously injured.
Two vehicles were also destroyed in the attack.
The outfits said that reports from Tripura are being awaited.
Meanwhile suspected UGs attacked the Moirang Police station using sophisticated weapons and lethode bombs yesterday afternoon at around 3.15, said sources.
According to report, suspected UGs carried out the attack from the northern, southern and western side of the police station.
